The Coaching Specialist is an education expert in literacy and/or numeracy who is unrelentingly committed to achieving positive and equitable outcomes for students. This role provides on-site technical support and guidance to AmeriCorps members, coaching to participating schools, ensures fidelity to program models, and leads data-based decision-making to maximize impact.
As part of the city of Rochester pilot program—launching January 2026 —the Coaching Specialist will serve as the primary staff member based in the city of Rochester. In addition to standard Coaching Specialist responsibilities, this position will take on expanded program management and site development duties to ensure successful implementation and prepare for program growth in FY27.
Member Recruitment & Support
Lead recruitment efforts, including screening, interviewing, and onboarding AmeriCorps members.
Attend and represent the program at local recruitment events and community engagements.
Provide ongoing coaching, performance management, and support for all Rochester-based members.
Program Management
Manage member onboarding, orientation, and compliance in accordance with AmeriCorps and organizational guidelines.
Monitor member progress, maintain accurate records, and ensure program quality and effectiveness.
Serve as the primary point of contact for Rochester-based sites and members until additional staff are hired (July 2026).
Site Expansion & Growth
Partner with the Executive Director to identify and secure new partner sites across the Rochester region.
Support program growth from pilot to launch year.
Build and maintain relationships with community partners, school districts, and stakeholders to ensure program success and expansion.
